About The Owner:

Jean Rachide was born, raised and has lived in Jacksonville, NC her entire life. Before starting her pet sitting career she worked in the dental field for 20 years, first as an assistant and then as a hygienist. Jean retired from dental hygiene in 2000, and then pursued a short but educational career in real estate sales, which she quickly found was not for her. The lack of available professional quality in-home pet care (our community is now fortunate to have several professional pet sitters), along with her passion to work with animals, inspired Jean to open her own pet sitting business. On October 11th, 2001, after several years of research and consulting with other pet sitters across the nation, she started Jean's Pet-N-Home Sitting.

Jean has always had a great love of animals. She is naturally drawn to them and rarely has any trouble gaining the trust of a pet. She treats all of the animals in her care with love, patience and respect. She is dedicated and will go to great lengths to ensure the health and well being of all of the pets entrusted to her care. Jean has had a multitude of pets throughout her lifetime to include cats, dogs, birds and saltwater fish aquariums. Most of her pets have lived an unusually long life. Jean's beloved 21 year-old Calico, FatCat, passed away in 2001 and her beloved 15 year-old Black Lab, Bo, passed away in 1999. She now shares her life and home with 3 cats, Gizmo, Hootie, and Gracy.
